Alaskan - Book Cover

2025 - Commissioned by author T.L. Kaeberlein for her original novel, "Alaskan".

Working closely with author T.L. Kaeberlein, I conceptualized and illustrated a cover image for her novel Alaskan, a story about a woman carving her own path on a journey across Alaska's beautiful landscape.

Progress Work

I went through multiple stages of process work, checking in with the client every step of the way. Eventually we ended up with this mountain landscape cutout composition, with a lone figure looking over it all as a focal point.

I also provided some new color palette options, and we switched to a monochromatic blue to make it feel more like an Alaskan landscape.

Typography

Last step was the title and author attribution, which also went through several iterations to find the perfect balance between legible and eye-catching.
